Overall Responsibility
Develop and execute short and long term strategic marketing plans for COOLPIX category and assigned products. Analyze changes in the market, customer requirements and adjust marketing plans accordingly. Interact closely with Sales, Product Lifecycle Marketing, Planning and Marketing Communications to insure clear understanding of objectives and effective execution of marketing strategies.
Essential Functions and Key Areas of Responsibility
- Participate in overall CDSC strategy, research and development requirements.
- Manage development of short and long term marketing plans for COOLPIX and additional products as assigned. Plans should be comprehensive and insightful including situation analysis, product positioning strategies, pricing plan, promotional plan and tactical field implementation plan.
- Assess internal/external information sources to determine and forecast market trends including size, share positions, product launches, product definitions, key technologies and pricing.
- Produce competitive analysis materials defining core features and capabilities of key competitors, including their strengths/weaknesses and where there is opportunity to add value and ‘change the game’ in assigned category.
- Develop and implement marketing activities which includes: tracking competitive pricing information, usage patterns, revision of forecasts, costs, and revenue estimates.
- Evaluate and analyze CDSC product portfolio opportunities and needs.
- Collaborate with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, lifecycle marketing, marketing communications, operations as well as external partners to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
- Formulate and present recommendations in areas of causal relationships.
- Identify partnering opportunities for complementary third-party products to broaden the company’s product line, and strengthen and drive sales within the COOLPIX category.
- Collaborate with product lifecycle manager and technical manager in the development of product training presentations for customers and sales representatives.
- Prepare yearly budget for assigned products.
- Participate with trade and market-related organizations
Qualifications
- Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Access, Visio, Adobe PhotoShop, MS Outlook
- Excellent knowledge of Nikon Imaging and competition product lines
- Nikon Software; i.e., Nikon View, Nikon Capture
- Adobe Photoshop, Software Programming, Alpha & Beta Software and Coding
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Strong ability to manage multiple projects with time constraint deadlines
- Ability to travel up to 30% (includes overnight travel)
Education, Skills & Experience
- 5+ years strategic product marketing management
- B.A. Marketing and/or Business with an MBA Marketing or equivalent preferred but not required
