Digital Landscape Workshop Series

Before there’s a hint of day on the horizon, the camera gear is loaded in the vehicles and a cup of steaming java warms your hands as we venture down the road. Just as the day greets you, your camera is set up and you’re peering through the viewfinder with the excitement of a kid on Christmas morning. Standing nearby might be Joe McNally or Moose Peterson or Laurie Excell or Kevin Dobler, some of the best shooters in the business, providing you with the tips that can make all the difference in your photographs.

Welcome to the Digital Landscape Workshop Series experience.

The DLWS is all about combining old-fashioned camera craft and modern computer methods with your photographic vision and your passion for image-making.

There's a lot involved in that process, but the essential is light. The DLWS provides the insight and instruction that allows you to romance and tame location light. Then we take it a step further by teaching you how to use the digital darkroom to "finish" the light in post-production. And we have the incredibly talented and entertaining Joe McNally teaching small flash wizardry during the workshop.

The DLWS is a small workshop of 30 students who are guided by eight instructors. We travel to some of the most photographically rich landscapes in the country. Our goal is to provide you with the tools necessary to create the kind of pictures that resonate with all who view them.

Take your photography beyond the technical at the DLWS, where passion fills the pixel!
