"The rainbow of colors concept connected the fashion, beauty and still-life photos," Therese says. "It would be obvious it was the same theme no matter where the photos were used or how they were divided up." The assignment gave Therese control of all aspects of the shoot: concept, clothes, accessories, makeup. "This was the best—to be able to create your own ideas and then make them real."

"I hadn't worked with these models before," Therese says, "but I prefer new models; it's much more exciting. I get a new kind of picture."

And the new camera? "The D3X was so light and easy to carry compared to medium format, and I was impressed with the sharp, bright colors. That was the main thing—the colors. They were the key to it all."
