would not recomend if you are looking for a neck strap i would not recommend this one. i have had multiple problems with this. the strap constantly comes undone from the clams and if it weren't for the way i hold my camera on my hand when i am not using it i would have dropped my camera numerous times. I am using a d300s, 24-70mm 2.8 and an SB600 flash. Can this strap handle the weight of this equipment?

Yes it should handle the weight easy. You may want to look at third party straps as the supplied ones are usually uncomfortable to wear round the neck for any length of time, something like Optec Pro or Black Rapid straps are very good, personally I use the Optec straps on all my kit and have never found fault with them.
